LG Building & Concrete Review

Buying a metal building in Guilford County, NC

Guilford County is the one place where I found L&G Building & Concrete’s name in a public permit record, and the way that permit was filed looks a lot like mine.

What the 2021 permit record shows

A Guilford County permit report from October 2021 lists an application named “L & G Building and Concrete” for a detached garage or storage building valued at $66,945. In the contractor field, the record says “Owner Contractor.”

One record proves nothing about anyone’s license and does not show that anything improper happened. I include it because nearly five years later my own $98,750 project was permitted the same way: the company’s paperwork put the permit on me, the owner. If you are a Guilford County customer being asked to do the same, you now know it is a question worth asking out loud.

Three jurisdictions, three counters

Greensboro and High Point each issue their own building permits. Guilford County handles the unincorporated areas. Towns such as Summerfield, Oak Ridge and Pleasant Garden have their own zoning ordinances covering accessory buildings, even where the county does the inspecting. A seller’s “we build in Guilford all the time” does not tell you which set of rules your lot falls under.

Before you sign with any metal building company in Guilford County

I am a customer, not a contractor. I signed a $98,750 contract with L&G Building & Concrete in February 2026 and, seven months later, have a cracked slab and half a frame. Everything I learned is on this site.
